Disclaimer: This article contains major spoilers, so be cautious! What’s a better time than Valentine to hug your big fluffy blanket, make a yummy hot drink, and find a romantic movie to watch on Netflix? If you have a date planned already, then that’s the only reason you want to go out. And speaking of movies, To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You has been just released today the 12th, and let me tell you that it’s the perfect love movie that has a bit of everything we want to see on V-Day.
Dreamy Romantic Activities
Well, the sweet Lana Condor a.k.a Lara Jean and our heartthrob Noah Centineo a.k.a Peter Kavinsky have finally started dating for real (If you haven’t watched part 1 already, then you have till March 9 all FREE of charge on Netflix for anyone in the Middle East). We all know that it’s all butterflies and rainbows at the beginning of any relationship, and in the movie, Lara Jean and Kavinsky are having it all, from lighting love lanterns together, playing carnival games on their first date, kissing under the snow, to fancy romantic dinners. We have to admit that it’s nice to forget about all the stress for a moment and watch some fresh sweet love.
The Mixture Between the Korean and American Culture
We already had an idea in part one “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” about how Lara Jean is Korean-American, and we all want to have their handsome loving dad, which is portrayed perfectly by John Corbett. In part 2, we are given more insights about the Korean culture mixed with the American culture. From celebrating Korean New Year, Korean hairdos, and having their own spin on the traditional Thanksgiving.
First Love Problems
We finally get to see how Lara Jean discovers the love life by going out on those dreamy dates we’ve mentioned before, and how she tries, and sometimes fails, to be a proper girlfriend. What I love about this movie is that we get to see the downs of a relationship and the confusion we all might have sometimes. Because, otherwise, it would have been another useless romantic movie that’s too good to be true. And it’s so refreshing to see how the thoughtful Peter can fall into some typical boyfriend mistakes and how naive and silly Lara can be.
Peter Kavinsky Vs. John Ambrose
We are not talking here about two extremely handsome men like the ones from the movie “This means War”, but we are giving you an idea. In this part, John Ambrose, one of Lara Jean’s crushes replied to her previously sent love letter, and I’ve got to say that the contrast of the two lads is so smart. Peter resembles the popular athlete that dated the school’s hottie, yet he is caring and trying to be a good boyfriend, v.s. the charming witty boy; John Ambrose, who is exotic looking, and volunteers in Belleview for the elderly (as if him playing the piano wasn’t perfect enough). Not trying to spoil too much here, but of course, you too can sense that Lara Jean will fall into big hot pickle here! Who can blame her though?
Some Cinderella-ish Movie vibes
Well, we all can’t be bored of a classic ending that includes a big poofy dress, a wise guardian to let the heroine know what she needs to do, and prince charming appearing at the right moment. This ending can never be overdone, or even if we feel so, Lara Jean looked so pretty in this light blue Cinderella-like dress, and the expected snowfall came just at the right time.
What can I say, if there is a cute wardrobe, cheesy romantic lines, then I will be glued to the screen, just let us know what do you think though after watching the movie!
