After a week full of pride for us Egyptians, we thought it was the best time to review this Egyptian brand, that is extra-pharaonic! Inspired by the Egyptian Mythology, and “Nut”, the Goddess of sky and mother of all Gods, NUT Botanicals is an emerging skincare brand that is redefining holistic self-care and beauty in general.
Founded by three sisters; Nermeen, Yasmine, and Shereen Teleb sharing a vision about clean, and sustainable beauty, the brand was launched with 4 products that you mainly need in your skincare routine. Nermeen Teleb, Co-Founder of NUT Botanicals said: “I’ve always dreamt of creating this skincare line, as being a Pharmacist, I believed that I should take my passion to the next level, so I took a diploma in skincare formulation from Formula Botanica. My sisters and I worked so hard on this project for a very long time. We’ve picked our ingredients, packaging, and process specifically to be all clean, sustainable, and eco-friendly.”
NUT Botanicals is a skincare brand free from Parabens, artificial colorants, artificial fragrances, phenoxyethanol, SLS, SLES, liquid paraffin, paraffin oil, petrochemicals, bisphenol A, polyethylene glycols (PEG’s), phthalates, resorcinol, ethanolamines, mineral oils, aluminum salts, EDTA, and formaldehyd. Products are packed eco-friendly in mostly glass tubes for sustainability.
Well, we’ve tried all four products and thought of breaking down our feedback on each product, so here you go:
A gentle facial cleanser that has Hyaluronic acid and water as the main ingredients. Well, Hyaluronic acid has been trending for quite a while in the skincare community, and it’s all for the right reasons! Also known as Hyaluronan, Hyaluronic acid is found in our skin to retain moisture and give the plumping effect. So, for starters, I was excited for this main ingredient as I’ve tried other products containing Hyaluronic acid and loved the results! The gel cleanser is soap-free, and it leaves your skin breathing, without irritation. It has a clean smell, and with a combination skin, I found after a month of use that is doesn’t dry my skin yet cleans it as expected.
Packed with 4% Niacinamide (vitamin B3), Hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and essential minerals, this moisturizer is light, and doesn’t leave your skin greasy, which is a problem I find with other moisturizers. Again with the selection of ingredients, Niacinamide, a form of Vitamin B3, is also getting the spotlight these days, for its healing properties. Personally, I look for specific things in a moisturizer; hydration, acne-treatment, and SPF. This one did what it claims, with minimizing the look of pores and leaving the skin looks rejuvenated. I am waiting for a new release with SPF though, because it saves me the extra step of applying sunscreen.
A blend of 6 miracle-working, fast-to-absorb oils packed with omega 3 & 6, vitamin E and powerful antioxidants. I used to have a love-hate relationship with facial oils because you can go from glowing to greasy real fast! I found that with 2 to 3 drops from this oil, I am safe, and my skin feels nourished. After a month, and worrying from some pores clogging, it didn’t happen. I also love adding this to my no make up look as it leaves your face looking healthy.
A brightening, turmeric-infused eye cream. Enriched with caffeine, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid, this eye cream is yellow in color, as the name implies. Well, I had a rookie mistake with this one and applied too much, and I ended with yellow patches around my eyes. Turmeric is a naturally potent ingredient and with this golden shade, it cancels out the tired eye look, which is perfect for mommies. Just remember to use one pump only, and the bottle has 30 ml of product that shall last you all year.
