If you’re old enough then you’d probably heard of the car brand “El-Nasr” … believe it or not Egypt used to manufacture their own cars and back then it was one of the best there is. The demand for the brand dropped down exponentially when Former President Anwer Al-Saddat issued a decree for “the Economic Exchange” that made people prefer riding a Cadilac over the locally manufactured car.
But recently the Ministry of Public Business Sector announced that the factory has been up and running and now they are launching a bunch of cars that will be test-driven with the ride-hailing company Uber.
The ministry highlighted that nine E70 cars were handed over to Uber drivers, who were trained by a team from Dongfeng to use and charge the cars.
The cars will be tested in accordance with specific standards at distances of up to 30,000 kilometers during a period between three to four months.
