Finally, Sharm El-Sheikh is “Going Green” by having its own solar plant that will be producing electricity for the city, hotels, and resorts located in the beautiful city. The solar power plant is said to use the latest international technology methods to produce energy and it was officially inaugurated on Wednesday the 30th.
The plant is called The Royal Albatros Moderna and it will be managed by SOLARSOL company, one of the leading solar plant managers and manufacturers in the world.
The station consists of about 2,500 solar panels on a surface area of 5,200 flat meters. Also, the capacity of the station is one megawatt, or 1,000 kilowatts, with an annual production of 2,000-megawatt hours, or two million kilowatt-hours.
“Going green” means pursuing knowledge and practices that can lead to more environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible decisions and lifestyles, which can help protect the environment and sustain its natural resources for current and future generations.
